FREE $1000 Government Grants for Parents Returning to Work
Bayside Leader
Oct 10, 2009 --
Monash Short Courses Centre, Monash University, are offering free $1000 grants to parents who wish to return to work. We would like to give parents the opportunity to complete training programs designed to give confidence and the skills necessary to find employment.
Grants are readily available for anyone who has been absent from education, training and the workforce for over two years whilst caring for children.
$1000 can be used for all courses held at Monash Short Courses Centre and popular choices include: Microsoft Office and Adobe computer courses, First Aid Level 2, Book Keeping and MYOB computer training, Event Management, Assertiveness Skills, Public Speaking, Medical Terminology and Professional Writing for Business. Work experience and resume assistance will be given to people who complete the Receptionist & Administration Training course. The Grant monies can also be used to cover for child care if required.
Many people have successfully completed courses at Monash Short Courses Centre and who have left positive and encouraging feedback.
“I always wanted to start work again after having children however I felt like I didn’t have any qualifications. After reading about the $1000 Grants in my daughter’s school newsletter I called up Monash to get more information. I was approved that day and booked myself into some computer courses and event management courses. I never would have considered doing further training because of the costs, but this Grant has given me the oppourtunity to do more.”
