Whether you’re a teacher, child care worker, therapist, parent or you work with young children in another capacity, taking the International Massage in Schools Programme (MISP) training will give you new skills to help make a difference to the lives of children from 2 – 12 years.
Children must ask permission before they touch their partner and thereby learn to respect each other. This can act as very early promotion of the importance of caring, nurturing touch to another human.
Children are grouped in pairs and administer 10 minutes of simple massage strokes to each other on the back, neck, shoulders, head arms and hands on their clothed body.
This respectful touch as well as asking permission reinforces the Protective Behaviours program and it helps to empower children to say ‘no’ to unwelcome touch.
